Young people require opportunities that help build a career.
Young people who work with CTA will create work that will be debuted in a professional format.
Your students will work with a professional director to develop an original piece of theatre inspired by their interests, ideas and experiences that matter to them.
This is not a school play - this is the opportunity to build real world skills that can take them to the stage and beyond.
Each participating school is partnered with a professional theatre practitioner who will guide students through the full process of making new work.
The CTA approach
Forming ideas
Together, young people will explore a theme, develop characters, generate material and create a structure that will create a foundation of the important stories young people have to tell.
Writing and devising
Young people are not handed a script, they are taught to create one. This process gives young people ownership of their work whilst teaching them skills to take into the arts and a multitude of other industries.
Rehearsal process
Over a set period of weeks, students will lead rehearsals, prepping them for a public performance. This allows students to ensure the work they have created is of a high standard.
Performance
Schools will be invited to perform at a venue in Merseyside with tickets being marketed and sold to the public - this will also give parents and guardians the opportunity to see the work create.
